Adam Kinner makes performances, concerts, choreography, writing and exhibitions — often research-driven and often collaborative. Recent projects include: MANUAL, a one-on-one performance that takes place covertly in a public library (created with Christopher Willes); La Suite Canadienne, a feature-length experimental documentary about trying and failing to redo a historical ballet (with Olivier Godin); and the air contains honey, a literary community orchestra (with Jacob Wren and many others).

He’s presented work extensively in Canada and abroad, most recently at festivals in Glasgow, Vancouver, Pamplona, Lisbon, Newcastle and Yokohama. His writing has been published in FENCE magazine, The Capilano Review, TURBA and Cigale. Adam was artist-in-residence at Vila Sul in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, and recently taught a workshop on voice in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He holds an MA from Concordia University and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He lives and works in Montreal/Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang.
